Fixed Performance of Aperture 3

Aperture is my default photo application on my mac. But ever since I’ve had version 3 the performance has been horrible. Flat out sucked. FInally after a bunch of searching for answers I found the steps that has everything running fast as it should be. If you have been suffering like many then try these steps.

Delete all the files in the following folders

HD/Library/Caches
HD/System/Library/Caches
Hard Drive/Users/”Your user”/Library/Caches
Hard Drive/Users/”YourUser”/Library/Preferences/com.apple.aperture.plist

Restart your mac afterwards.

I am once again enjoying using Aperture. It is running super fast and I’m super happy.

Created using an iPhone 4

Pretty amazing. This film shot was shot and edited entirely on the iPhone 4 / iMovie app.

Diving into Aperture 3

Not being a pro photographer, I was pretty happy with iPhoto. Nevertheless I purchased Aperture 2 awhile back to have a little more feature rich application to work with. Installed it and there it sat untouched for a long time. Purchased Aperture 3 upgrade installed it but had a lot of problems with it until a few fixes were released from Apple.
Starting to really like it. But my understanding of it is still very limited. I’m sure I only use a portion of what it can really do. My organization skills with it is horrible. I have photos everywhere.
I’m taking this next week or two to get down and dirty with how Aperture works and get my photos organized and become a better user overall.
