Gave my Kindle Fire a couple of days to grow on me. What I like best is the form factor. The 7” screen size makes it small enough to still fit in one hand but just large enough to view without squinting much. My last kindle I couldn’t read a book in bed with the lights off because it wasn’t backlit. My iPad is but it feels too large to lay in bed and read. Last night I read a few chapters with my Kindle Fire and it was perfect.
Options you might expect such as books, web browser and including streaming movies and TV shows are a plus. I streamed an episode of Lost and it was great. I
For $199 it makes a great buy for a tablet. It’s not as full featured as an iPad, but it’s not priced to be. For the price it’s a great tablet. If you’re a Amazon Prime member that adds more value to it. I wish they could have added a camera. That would have been a great addition.
It won’t replace my iPad, but it will be my preferred reading device.
